Kimcha D'Pischa

In memory of Eliezer Shor

By supporting Kimcha D’pischa in memory of  Eliezer Shor  you become a partner in deepening the connection between the nation and the needy and lone soldiers.
We greatly appreciate any donation you can make.

Eliezer Shor has since passed away in 2003, but his legacy carries on through the organization he founded. To this day, the organization continues to provide monetary assistance to lone soldiers as well as to other needy soldiers. The organization coordinates directly with the affiliated IDF
authorities.

Eliezer’s grandson, Barkai Shor, who served in the Kfir brigade, was very involved in distributing funds. Barkai fell in the line of duty during Operation Protective Edge in 2014. These days, the funds distributed mainly between two brigades: The Kfir brigade that Barkai served in and the Bismalach brigade (The School for Infantry Corps Professions and Squad Commanders)  where he last served and fought.

Today, the organization distributes   vouchers to over 400 soldiers!

The funds provide assistance with all the crucial holiday expenditures and demonstrate deep appreciation for the soldiers’ sacrifices and contributions to the country. It’s a monetary and morale boost.

The organization runs solely on the volunteerism provided by the Shor family and friends such as Philip Stein of Philip Stein Associates, CPA. Philip was drafted to the cause by Eliezer over 30 years ago and continues to contribute and raise funds!

Around 40 years ago, Eliezer Shor decided to start supporting lone soldiers; whether simply by inviting them over for a Shabbat meal or by sending care packages. He recognized that these soldiers are in need of care.

At Passover time, he’d collect names of needy lone soldiers and would pass out “Kimcha D’pischa”—monetary assistance for all their holiday needs.
